Congratulations to Yi-Hui Wang for receiving a Presidential Fellowship
Congratulations to Yi-Hui Wang for receiving a Presidential Fellowship in the 2025-2026 competition. The Presidential Fellowship, the highest award given by the Graduate School for outstanding scholarship, supports the fellow in the final year of dissertation work. Only ~30 of OSU's over 11,000 graduate students are recognized in each annual competition.
Yi-Hui earned her BS from China Medical University and then her MS in Biochemical Sciences from National Taiwan University, two of the top universities in Taiwan. Yi-Hui is working with Prof. Wen Tang in Biological Chemistry & Pharmacology, where she discovered a novel factor in the biogenesis of piRNAs. She was a Center for RNA Biology Fellow and was the president of the RNA Biology Student Organization.
Check out her 2025 NAR paper, "An AT-hook transcription factor promotes transcription of histone, spliced-leader, and piRNA clusters," with Hannah Hertz and Ben Pastore (also an OSBP student and Presidential Fellow!):
