Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Areas of Expertise

  • Multi-omics data analyses.
  • ncRNAs (e.g., miRNAs, lncRNAs), RNA modifications (e.g., RNA editing), and Human Endogenous Retroviruses (HERVs) as gene regulatory systems.
  • Non-invasive cancer biomarker discovery, with special emphasis on lung cancer and sarcomas.
  • Development of free bioinformatics and cloud-based resources for RNA biology and biomedical applications.

My research focuses on multi-omics data analyses, investigating the role of ncRNAs (e.g., miRNA), RNA modifications, and HERVs in both cancer and normal tissues. I also aim to discover non-invasive cancer biomarkers and develop computational tools and databases to advance RNA biology research.
