Congratulations to Anita Hopper who was recently named OSU Distinguished University Professor!

Dr. Hopper was surprised with this honor, which was announced during a ceremony following the CRB monthly seminar on March 18. The award was announced by Helen Malone, Vice Provost for Academic Policy and Faculty Resources, Patrick Louchouarn, Senior Vice Provost for Faculty, Dean Susan Olesik from the College of Arts and Sciences, and Susan Cole, Chair of Molecular Genetics.

 The Office of Academic Affairs awards the permanent, honorific title of Distinguished University Professor on a competitive basis to up to three full tenure-track professors each year who have truly exceptional records in teaching, research, scholarly or creative work and service. Distinguished University Professors automatically become members of the President’s and Provost’s Advisory Committee. In addition, recipients are awarded a $30,000 one-time grant to support their academic work and are expected to maintain a regular program of teaching/mentorship, research, scholarly or creative work, and service.
